Where I Belong by Building 429

Where I Belong by Building 429 has really been speaking to me for the past 24 hours because I recently lost a family member. Instead of breaking down and crying or being mad that she's gone I listen to this song. It reminds me that one day I will see her again. I'll see her when I go home to heaven and that's where I belong.

I lost my Grandma Garza yesterday and when I found out this song was playing on the radio. I turned up the volume and listened to what the words were saying to me. I know it sounds silly how one song can make a difference in how you feel but it really can. The right song at the right time can make everything seem right and that everything will be okay in the end.

Broken by Lindsey Haun

There's one song that keeps getting stuck in my head. It is Broken by Lindsey Haun. It not only does it speak to my heart but it also speaks to my life. Broken tells about how no matter how much we don't think we can make it through our hard times, that we should never stop believing in ourselves. That the scars we get through out our life make us who we are on the outside and the inside.

It tell me that everything has happened for a reason. The reason bad things happen is to make us stronger. The song Broken tries to make sence of all the pain in the world. How we should never stop trying to move past the things we are going through, so it can make us stronger. It gives me a new meaning of hope.

9/15/12 Consert for Impact Kick Off

Well there was a concert Saturday at Herman park around 6:00 till around 9:30. It was free music and food. It was brought to us by the Cross+Point. Entertainment company for the Impact youth group. Yeah I know most people don't want to listen to "Christian" music but it relates to the youth of America. All the artists there rapped and its not something most people would expect.

Some of the artists were Prodiga1, Wam, Izac G, and more. They gave out CD's just so they can share what they stand for. They Came from Billings, Montana for only the price of gas money. The music they do has a lot of truth in it. They don't do this for a living because they don't think its about the money, it's about getting the word of God out to people who wouldn't hear it otherwise.

Angels Hands by Rodney Atkins

One of my favorite songs is Angels Hands by Rodney Atkins. I like this song because Rodney has put meaning behind his words. The first part of his song is talking about this mom who is trying to get her son to quit drinking. When her son came home late one night she had stayed up late worrying about him. She told him that if his dad was there he would be disappointed in him.

The second part of this song is talking about this little girl, and her parents are getting a divorce. Her parents try to make it seem like a good thing because she will have two rooms. At first she was confused and then she asks were her dog Checkers would live because she doesn't want to have to give him away. It also says that she prayed to the angels that they would bless her mom and dad even though they were getting a divorce. She also asked the angels to watch over her till the morning light.

This is my favorite song because he doesnt try to make life sound better than it normaly is. Rodney is also talking about real life and what happpens all over the world. I like the way that even though these people are going through a lot still find it in their heart to be kind to those around them. It aslo shows  that you don't have to be a jerk or start doing things that could get you into a lot of trouble or worse could even kill you.

Opening Up

Most of the time people try and think that music is just back ground noise but its not. Its more than that, it speaks to your heart, all you have to do is listen to what the words say to you. Most people only talk to there friends about the music they listen to because they know they like the same style. You will never know if someone likes the same music as you untill you open up to people.

The next time you are listening to the radio as just back ground music try to hear what the words are actually saying. Instead of just pointly singing along with the song. When you dont know the intentions of the artist and what they are trying to say to you it makes it hard to know the message that they are trying to get out. When you are sad or happy it determends what you listen to. It all depends on what mood you are in.

Welcome to Sweet Music

Hey welcome to Sweet Music. this blog is about music that reaches out to all types of people. I think I'm qualified to write about this, because I have met a lot of people through music. I wouldn't have met them other wise. My voice in this will probably go from formal to more relaxed. My goal for this is to show people that they shouldn't judge someone on how they look or where because you never know if you have more incommon with them through your passion of music.
